After the immense success of The Avengers and the preceding Super Hero movies which lead up the its culmination Marvel is ready to launch phase 2. Adults, teens, seniors, children–hell near everybody is excited for this May’s release of Iron Man 3. May 3rd will reign in the first of Phase 2 in Marvel’s yellow brick road towards the Avengers 2 which will be in theaters May of 2015. Joss Whedon will return to direct the sequel to the Avengers. Still no confirmations as to which characters will return and which will join the roster, but speculation is as fun as it ever was. I hope to see a crossover with the X-Men perhaps… Hell! Maybe Spidey will have his day with the Avengers!
Just so you know, Spidey will most likely never have his day…
Because Deadpool makes Spidey look like a bike Cop
There isn’t much on the actual roster to be reported besides the information offered for Iron Man 3 because the release is around the corner. Nevertheless the line-up is available with some basic cast and release information:
- Iron Man 3- May 3, 2013
- Director: Shane Black
Iron Man 3 will see the return of Robert Downey JR and Gweneth Paltrow as Stark and Potts! …. only this time she’ll be wearing her own suit… This third installment looks like much more a love story and with a new director on board I’m sure that it won’t be like the first two of the series. Still out of all the movies Iron Man is a favorite amongst most fans.

- Thor: The Dark World-November 8, 2013
- Director: Alan Taylor
The second up on the chopping block will be in theaters just in time for the holiday season. With the stunning Natalie Portman secured in the cast and the spot on Thor being played by Chris Hemsworth (who will always be Kirk’s father to me) Thor: The Dark World will certainly not be the worst of the scheduled films.

- Captain America: The Winter Soldier– April 4, 2014
- Directors: Anthony Russo, Joe Russo
Although Captain America was arguably the least successful of the Avenger’s lead-ups it’s main character, played by Chris Evans was arguably the most relatable to the mere mortal. Paired with Scarlett Johanson and the overwhelming desire for more Avengers, the launch of The Winter Soldier will probably be more successful than the first!

- Guardians of the Galaxy- August 1, 2014
- Director: James Gunn
With the least amount of information surfacing from within the vast ocean of the internet it is being speculated that Guardians of the Galaxy will usher in some fresh super-faces for the Avengers 2 which will follow the release in 2015. This could make or break the Avengers and perhaps allow a pathway for more iconic characters to grace the silver-screen such as the X-men (ahem, again I say it)! Confirmed stars for the cast include Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, and Chris Pratt.
