The ‘Next Box’ code named ‘Durango’ has been a hotly anticipated subject, particularly referring to its mysterious name. Most commonly the device has been referred to as the Xbox 720, but few believe that will actually be the title of a system not intended to act as a sequel to the 360. Several domains have been registered to Microsoft related to the names “Xbox Fusion” and “Xbox 8” however the cat may have escaped this tightly monitored bag with this newly released statement from the International Business Times,
“Sources related to development of the new Xbox have confirmed to IBTimes UK that the console… will be called Infinity.” -IBT
The name is still not confirmed officially by Microsoft, as they are most likely saving that for their grand stage presentation at E3 May 21, 2013 at 10am PDT. Microsoft released an official statement today, May 16, commenting:
“We’re excited to share more about the new generation of games, TV, and entertainment [at E3], but have nothing further to share at this time.”- Microsoft Official Statement
