PC Version of Fifa 14 Won’t use Next Gen Ignite Engine

Do you remember when Fifa 2010 came out for the PC? While on the home consoles you could enjoy a next gen experience the PC players still had that outdated 2004 FIFA game with slightly updated graphics. It took EA Sports 4 years to bring their Console Engine to the personal computers. At least today we can all play FIFA 13 with the same quality despite your platform of choosing…

But according to Rob Hodson from EA via twitter:

“EA Sports Ignite will power FIFA 14 on Xbox One and PS4, not PC”.

Well this is BAD for us PC gamers… Hopefully the PS4 and Xbox One versions will be superior to what we see in the current gen consoles (otherwise what’s the point?). At least let’s hope the online component is more stable than in the past years…

Will you buy the PC version of the game this year knowing it might not be the best one? Only time will tell but let’s just hope we don’t have to wait another 4 years to see the new engine available on PC…
