Hideo Kojima Praises GTA V

Kojima

Hideo Kojima stated on twitter that he was surprised with the new GTA V trailer and that he thinks that Metal Gear Solid V won’t reach that level! He goes on to praise Rockstar’s work on the famous franchise. A humble gesture from one of the most creative minds in the industry!

“GTA V” new trailer was awesome! This free control is future of the game, way higher than anywhere, makes me depress as matter fact.(cont..)”

“I don’t think our “V” can reach that level. Rockstar’s team are the best. W/o question they will pull up the possibility of game.”

This is something big because as we’ve seen, Metal Gear Solid V is shaping up to be a great looking game. We should see more people on the Industry behave like this, because humility is a great thing and it is good to see these gestures!

It is a competitive industry but respecting those who work as hard as you is something that we should see more often!

    • I know what he did regarding Metal Gear Rising and this surprises me even more because of that. As to one being better than the other, I believe they are 2 very different games that will be different, not better or worse. I love MGS since I was but a boy but GTA is the game I’m looking forward to the most this year, even with next-gen on our doorstep… They will surely be 2 great games that will push the Industry forward a little!

  1. I think that Kojima’s sentiments could negatively impact sales for the upcoming MGS V. The gaming industry is very competitive. Therefore, when you are competing with industry giants like GTA, you have to promote your brand as being the best. Those are just my thoughts.

    • It is a very valid opinion Samantha, but MGS V does not need that much promoting and what Kojima is saying is just praise your rivals, it’s an honourable thing to do! I would rather see this than more companies always saying their product is the best when it turns out not to be. But i completely understand your point and those are 2 very different games, and MGS V doesn’t even have a release date yet! People who will buy Grand Theft Auto will have enough time between both games to be able to purchase MGS V too.
